Showdown at the OK Corral: JJ's right boob vs. 542.000 American idiots

542.000. I didn't know that number until today.

That's the number of Americans who complained after Janet Jackson exposed her right breast for less than a second during the Super Bowl. 542.000 people sufficiently outraged by the sight of a female boob to officially complain about it.

What the hell is wrong with those people? What harm do they see in that? Are boobs immoral? Damaging in any way? It's so beyond me that anyone can be offended enough to actually complain ... but ... 542.000 people???

Obama, you got some serious changing to do.

Oh, and just to avoid being tracked down and sued for tearing the very fabric of life of innocent children and sensitive readers into shreds, here's a low nausea version of the disgusting incident!

That kinda makes sense ...

Teenage girl #1: Oh my god, could you imagine having a baby, like, you know...inside of you?
Teenage girl #2: Oh my god, no! Eeeww!
Teenage girl #1: I know, right? But I would do it.
Teenage girl #2: You would? You wouldn't mind them cutting into you?
Teenage girl #1: They do that?
Teenage girl #2: Yeah, you get cut open. It's called a Sicilian.

Lex & Klatten - Hvide mennesker

One of the best performances by Paprika Steen - ever!

Really funny if you speak Danish, but worth watching for her expressions, gestures and drumming anyway. I watched it years ago on TV and laughed my butt off, and today accidentally bumped into this rather low quality version on YouTube. Still funny as hell!

Patrick Bateman on steroids

Your business card is CRAP! Mine took me 25 years to develop and it doesn't fit in a rollerdex, 'cause it doesn't BELONG in a rollerdex!

Watch this guy - he's like a weird version of Patrick Bateman ...

If I was a motorbike, I'd be a 1934 BMW R7

I don't ride bikes. I don't have a drivers license. I'm not interested in cars or motorbikes. But that doesn't mean that I don't recognize a thing of beauty when I see it. This old girl was found hidden in a box and I found the story on Coolhunter.

Bloggus visitori habitatus statistica

Sometimes my friends, family or work mates ask why I write this blog in English. As the map below shows, it's not to be smart or something. It's simply because I get to share my little world with people from all over the planet. And that is one of the really fun things about this world wide web thingy.

Boing boing boing boing!

Still cold, still windy, but somehow, a touch of spring is in the air. No more than 2-4 degrees Celcius extra, still it's noticable. And my soul starts yearning for the dacha. Or rather ... it feels like it's jumping up and down like an eager child. Boing boing boing boing.

We're going there for the entire Easter vacation, and probably for a weekend sometime before that. And then the season has begun!

My sister has a cottage too, and judging by the total hours of sun in Denmark last year, we've both picked some rather nice locations. :))

If you don't play WoW - don't bother watching this!

Hahahaha! This is a great parody of all the gold and leveling scams in WoW. And if you don't play World of Warcraft ... this is probably the most boring post I've ever posted here. Sorry about that! Just ignore and wait for better days.

Be nice or leave - thank you

I've got a sign at work saying "BE NICE OR LEAVE THANK YOU". I've put it so it's visible when you enter my office, and even though it's just a "fun" sign ... I mean every word!!

Sutton In short, I absolutely HATE when people behave like assholes at work. At times, it seems as if an environment of competition, focus on individual performances and bottom lines almost encourages behavior that in "normal life" would be considered rude or even psychopathic. And that goes for behavior among colleagues as well as the way management treats employees.

Assholes comes in many shapes and sizes, and I think we've all met one or two during our work life. Nevertheless, here are some traits to keep an eye on at work (from Bob Sutton):

  • Personal insults
  • Invading one’s “personal territory”
  • Uninvited physical contact
  • Threats and intimidation, both verbal and nonverbal
  • “Sarcastic jokes” and “teasing” used as insult delivery systems
  • Withering e-mail flames
  • Status slaps intended to humiliate their victims
  • Public shaming or “status degradation” rituals
  • Rude interruptions
  • Two-faced attacks
  • Dirty looks
  • Treating people as if they are invisible

My point is, that this type of asshole behavior is not only unnecessary, rude and annoying - it is also downright dumb and expensive for the business! Sutton coined the term TCA (Total Cost of Assholes) to describe the financial consequences of not stopping assholes at work. It’s an economic analysis of what it costs to employ destructive people, for example:

  • Time spent appeasing, calming, counseling or appeasing assholes
  • Time spent “cooling out” employees who are vistimized
  • Time spent reorganizing departments and teams so that assholes do less damage
  • Anger management and other training to reform assholes
  • Legal costs for inside and outside counsel
  • Settlement fees and successful litigation by victims
  • Settlement fess and successful litigation by alleged assholes (especially wrongful-termination cases)
  • Compensation for internal and external consultants, executive coaches, and therapists
  • Health insurance costs
  • Therefore: BE NICE OR LEAVE - THANK YOU!!!

Stein Bagger + Grace Jones = Corporate Cannibal

    Corporate Cannibal

Pleased to meet you, pleased to have you on my plate
your meat is sweet to me
    your destiny
    your fate

you’re my life support, your life is my sport

    I’m a man-eating machine

you won’t hear me laughing, as i terminate your day
you can’t trace my footsteps, as i walk the other way

i can’t get enough prey, pray for me
    (i’m a man-eating machine)
    corporate cannibal, digital criminal
corporate cannibal, eat you like an animal

employer of the year, grandmaster of fear
    my blood flows satanical,
    mechanical, masonical and chemical
    habitual ritual

    i’m a man-eating machine..

i deal in the market, every man, woman and child is a target
a closet full of faceless nameless pay more for less empitness

i’ll make you scrounge, in my executive lounge
you pay less tax, but i’ll gain more back

    my rules, you fools

we can play the money game
    greedgame, power game, stay insane
lost in the cell, in this hell
slave to the rhythm of the corporate prison

    i’m a man-eating machine…
    i can’t get enough prey
    pray for me
    corporate cannibal…
    digital criminal…

i’ll consume my consumers, with no sense of humour
i’ll give you a uniform, chloroform
    sanatize, homogenize, vaporize… you

i’m the spark, make the world explode
    i’m a man-eating machine, i’ll make the world explode
    corporate cannibal…

    Oro Jaska Beana

If I had a daughter, I would like her to be like these girls. No princesses. No Britney Spears clones. No out of tune don't-I-look-lovely blond/pink horror shows. Just girls who ROCK!

In contrast to the rest of the participants in the Nordic MGP 2008, The Blacksheeps went on stage and gave the audience pure, raw talent, a simple and well performed rock-punk tune and a singer with a voice so full that it is difficult to grasp that she's just a preteen.

Either the kids of the Nordic countries have an excellent sense of talent, or their parents voted like crazy this Saturday - I know I did. Whatever the answer to that, The Blacksheeps deservedly won the contest.

    Enjoy!

If you liked that, how about this amazing unplugged cover version of Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Gold Lion" (video below)? Listen to that girl!! Talent can be found in the middle of nowhere too...
